What a day!

So my day started out normal and breakfast was a first:
  • Strawberry flavored Chobiani
  • Trail Mix with nuts and chocolate:)
  • Ripe Pear

All mixed up, and it tastes way better than it looks! So creamy and I loved the taste better than Fage brand anyday! Now if I could just get my hands on the pom and pineapple flavors!
I then took a trip to IOWA! I had to get a Health Assesment done before starting my new job next week, so they made me come down this week. So it had to be done in one day! So 9 hours in a car, 2 shots and 1 car load of crap to fill my in-laws house and then I was back in Minneapolis.
I tried capturing the Welcome to Iowa sign:

When I got to my in-laws I had my first LaCroix water, so good!
I then unpacked some boxes and this picture is of my mother-in-laws new stovetop backsplash! It's Dutch tiles and they keepsakes and very expensive:
And this is her living/dining room. One thing you should know about this town I'm moving to, everyone is Dutch, knows someone who is Dutch or is married to someone who is Dutch! And all the houses are decorated with tulips, windmills and wooden shoes:

So before I knew it I was back in the car and on my way back to civilization. I will say that the Welcome to Minnesota sign is so much better! And yes those are millions of bugs on my poor windshield:) Lets just say I may have killed all the bugs in Iowa/Minnesota!

These are my snacks that got me through the 9 hours of butt-numbing/staring at Iowa corn:
  • Diet Mt. Dew for energy
  • Grape tomatoes
  • Crushed pineapple
  • Bread and sundried tomato turkey for a sandwich

Yummy sweet grape tomatoes!

I can't believe I went from Minneapolis to Iowa and back to Minneapolis, I needed to run as soon as I got out of that car! I went for 5 miles in the park and now I'm going to bed before my last 2 days at this job!
What are your favorite road trip snacks?
Mine is defintely licorice, but didn't have any today.

oh my gosh! What a long road trip- you must be exhausted! I use to get bug splats like that when I drove to school in PA! Favorite car snacks...laras, apples, bananas, pretzels.

Ugh. 9 hours sounds hellacious! Glad you had some snacks to keep you company. My go-to's are granola bars, bananas, pita chips and trail mix!

I definitely always carry a Zola Superfood smoothie, trail mix with M&M's, and Odwalla bars. Yum!
